Fall Festival in City of Fairfax
The City of Fairfax Parks & Recreation hosts an annual fall festival on the second Saturday in October in historic Old Town downtown. The event starts at 10am and runs until 5pm. Admission is free. Free shuttle buses run from George Mason University and Fairfax High School. Children’s activities include carnivals, face-painting, pick-your-own-pumpkin, amusement rides, petting zoo among others. While most activities are free, some require a nominal fee. This year the Festival Stage will feature smash hits from “The Legwarmers – The Ultimate 80’s Band.”

Fredericksburg Arts & Crafts Festival
Join hundreds of artisans and crafters from all over the region as they showcase their talents at the 2011 Fredericksburg Arts & Craft Festival hosted at the Fredericksburg Expo & Conference Center on October 15 (10am to 6pm) and October 16 (11am to 4pm).
Admission price is $7 for adults; children under 12 enter free. (Be sure to check the website for a discount coupon).
The festival will feature an array of handcrafted creations from paintings, ceramics, jewelry, home décor and clothing to jewelry, pottery, photography and more.

Fall Festival by Joshua’s Hands
Joshua’s Hands is a non-profit organization that was established to honor Joshua Guthrie, a young man who dedicated his life to service. In October, they organize an annual Fall Festival in Waterford, Va. The free event includes an old-fashioned spelling bee, hayrides, three-legged races and much more. An auction is held to raise money for the organization.

Fall Festival in Bowling Green
Bowling Green in Caroline County hosts its Annual Fall Festival in October. This year, the festival will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2011 from 9am until 4pm (rain or shine). Guests can enjoy live entertainment, activities for children, an Annual Car Show, the Antique Tractor Show and a new Motorcycle Show.

Craftsmen’s Classic Arts & Crafts Festival
Winner of Sunshine Artist “200 Best” awards and named a “Top 100″ Show in the Nation by Art Fair Source Book, Craftsmen’s Classic is an annual fall festival held at the Dulles Expo Center. In 2011, the festival will run from October 21 until October 23. Find several things from traditional to contemporary in varied budgets.

Annandale Fall Festival & Parade
Join hundreds of spectators in a Fall Festivalin the Safeway parking lot on Little River Turnpike on Saturday, October 22, 2011 from 10am to 5pm. The festival features several jazz and rock bands. Food connoisseurs can partake in the Taste of Annandale and enjoy varied cuisines from local vendors. For the little guests, the festival offers plenty of fun activities – from bungee jumping, rock climbing, face painting, puppet shows, treasure hunts and more. The Annual Parade is held since 1950 will march its way along Columbia Pike from 10:00 AM to noon.

Harvest Festival at Hartwood Winery
Opened in 1989, Hartwood Winery is a quaint farm winery that celebrates the change of the season with its harvest festival. On October 29, 2011, Rogers Ford winery joins Hartwood with wine tastings, live music, hayrides, food vendor and tours. Kids can enjoy pony rides, moon bounce, games, scarecrow making, and pumpkin painting. Admission fee: $15/adults, children free.
